Most of the former Cheshire residents did not move too far from Cheshire. Jobs, families, friends kept them in the greater vicinity.
Here is an update on some of the people in "The Cheshire Transaction".

The Harrisons moved into their new house on their 77 acre property about 10 minutes from Cheshire.

Megan is a sophomore at Ohio Northern.

Laura graduated from River Valley High and studies at Ohio University in Athens.

Harold and Odella bought a new home in Rio Grande, Ohio, 30 miles from Cheshire. Soon after moving, Odella passed away.

In early 2004, Harold discontinued his Cheshire Post Office box because traveling to the post office became too difficult.

After having spent the winter in Florida, Liz has moved to her new home in Gallipolis, Ohio. Though she's not right next to the Ohio River, she is still close to it.

She still gets together weekly with the Widow's Club.

Boots still lives in her home along the Ohio River with her three dogs. She has added surveillance equipment to feel safer.

As she predicted, she now serves on the Village Council.

Buck works again as the Cheshire Postmaster. He sees fewer of his old friends stopping in to get their mail. As of October 2003, AEP owns the building that houses the Post Office and has leased it to the USPS until 2013.
Chuck and his family bought a small home in a retirement community in Racine, Ohio. Since AEP did not buy out his business, he closed the bait shop in January 2003.
